SEPTEMBER 26 OR 27 2014

Friday – Help without harm

Those in the helping professions are reporting an increase in clients dealing with out of control or compulsive sexual behaviours. These behaviours significantly affect not only the individual, but their loved ones as well, and few helping professionals have specific training to deal with these issues! This one-day training will provide professionals and clergy with basic information on sexual addiction or problematic sexual behaviours, and will offer a model to help the entire family system dealing with the shock and significant distress found in response to the betrayal inherent to this type of addictive behaviour.

Intended Audience: Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapists, Social Workers, Pastors, Youth Workers, Ministers, Lay Leaders in Compassion and Care Ministries, students in any of the above programs. See the Full Schedule

Live streaming available for the Friday session to participants outside the greater Calgary area

Saturday – It’s just a little porn…

What’s the problem with just a little porn? In today’s pornified culture graphic images are only a “click” away on any mobile device. New research in brain science illustrates how pornography can affect the wiring of the brain and ultimately endanger healthy emotional development and relationships. This one-day conference will engage people from all walks, whether single, married, or parents, to better understand the impact of pornography in today’s society. Issues around healthy attachment, betrayal, sexual exploitation and protecting our children will be discussed.

Intended Audience: appropriate for all concerned members of the community, couples, parents, youth workers and lay leaders, including anyone impacted by pornography. See the Full Schedule
