Volunteer & Practicum Opportunities
If you would like to be part of this dynamic team of people who are making a difference in the lives of others, consider the opportunities we have available. At the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre, we realize that the success we experience with the people we serve is directly related to the dedication of our volunteers and staff.

Because of the nature of our ministry, most of our positions require a minimum commitment of one year. Another essential is the recognition of the true intrinsic value of all human life. Some of our clients have survived a complicated or destructive childhood or are currently living in a difficult situation. As caregivers, we must be able to remain completely non-judgemental in our attitudes while at the same time being filled with hope and love.
Throughout the year, we have opportunities for people to get involved without the full training commitment. We always need people to bake homemade treats for our clients to enjoy during our classes. Some people knit, crochet or quilt blankets for our new babies. Others come in for a specific short-term task or help out in administration.
There are also opportunities to bring your small group or youth group to serve at the Centre. We host groups that help us with cleaning, organizing, and handyman-type jobs. We also have a yearly Baby Bottle Fundraising Campaign for which we need groups to stuff the bottles before they go out to the churches.
If you have some time and a skill you think could be put to use, contact Lori, Volunteer Coordinator, at lori@pregcare.com or call: 403-269-3110

We are privileged to partner with several colleges in providing practicum experiences for their students. These students give many hours of service in exchange for a unique learning opportunity with client contact. While many of these students stay on as volunteers, others take this valuable experience into their careers. Seeing lives changed by offering help during a crisis time is a life-enhancing experience for staff, volunteers and students. “I receive so much more than I give” is a commonly spoken statement.
